Wizards of the Coast - Black Dragon

This is the Wizards of the Coast Black Dragon. He's based on the artwork from the WOTC AD & D monster manual. This one I painted in dark purples and greens to give him some nice colour, whilst still keeping him as a predominantly black dragon. As he lives in a swamp, the base is full of vegetation and stagnant water. I love the way the wings turned out on this one. This is a new pic of an older model.

He was only available for a short time and it's a shames that they didn't make more dragons for that range, because the artwork was really nice. The casting wasn't brilliant though and he took quite a bit of filing, drilling and pinning. Now they've brought out a collectable miniatures game, and the models are all pre-painted plastics. Although they have got some dragons, these are, in my opinion, really naff compared to this beastie (and a lot smaller too).
